RestOralase Oral Appliance Options
NINJA
NINJA stands for Neuromodulation and Integration through Natural Joint Advantage. It evolved from the ALF-NLA, which came out of Dr. Darick Nordstrom's work. Much like the Ninja warrior, it is highly effective, sleek and almost invisible to the observer while being comfortable for the patient.
This highly sophisticated appliance covers the front 8-10 teeth on the upper jaw and prevents the molar teeth from contacting. By providing balance to the bite and freedom for the tongue and the 8-10 upper front teeth while stimulating the brainstem neurology and breathing reflexes, it provides gentle neurological support while slightly changing the jaw joint position to get an advantage that many bulky and uncomfortable nightguards often fail to achieve.
The NINJA appliance is not recommended for patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea as the definitive treatment for the condition, but it can be a great complementary therapy to reach maximal medical improvement when used in conjunction with appliances designed primarily to support the airway, The NINJA is a great option for patients who clench and grind their teeth, with mild temporomandibular joint disorder or for those who suffer from headaches or migraines.
Dorsal mandibular advancement appliance
The dorsal appliance has evolved into the appliances used by many dentists to address the effects of snoring and sleep apnea. The RestOralase mandibular advancement appliance includes some specific design modifications to make it cranially friendly and is customized for the needs of the patient through an oral neuromyofunctional positioning process facilitated by the RestOralase therapies.
Nordic Positioner
The Nordic Positioner is a soft, relsilient and comfortable appliance designed to meet the needs of the patient whose diagnosis and treatment plan includes treatment for the Trigeminal Cardiac Reflex . It is also a great choice for patients who have been undergoing ALF Therapy or orthodontic therapy as a functional retainer while supporting the airway.
Modified and Customized Pre-formed Positioner
Even though the laser technology used is similar to the popular NightLase procedure, RestOralase is very different in its approach and technique. RestOralase builds on OraLase, a laser sequence created by Dr. Darick Nordstrom, and was developed by Dr. Angie Tenholder with an understanding of the relationships between the oral environment and the emotional system, and of how trauma and inflammation affect neurological function and sleep quality.
